  1. Nobody cares about your individual  progress, all that matter is what you contribute to the company. If you are working hard, reaching office on time, going out late and not giving any result, it means you are not working according to company. Companies want result and contribution from your side. 
  2. You will be dealing with a dozen task other than what you were initially hired  for. Your scope of work will only keep increasing. If your boss assign you another task, you can't say- It's not my work. You will have to do anyway. 
  3. If you are lazy, you will ridiculed by  your boss; if you are proactive, you will be hated by your colleagues. You need to manage these things by own as there are also politics in corporate world.
  4. You won't get what you really deserve  until you raise your voice. If you will remain silent or you are less speaker, you will get nothing at the end. You should raise your voice, whenever it is required.
